Read MoreI met Al in Ypsilanti many years ago. We became friends and I always enjoyed being around Al. He was bright, engaging and a good human being. Al and I had some great debates about politics over a beer in our neighborhood hangout. So sorry to hear he passed a few years ago.

It was an honor to have Al as my uncle. I have nothing but awesome memories of the guy. He was fun, wild, caring and a great fisherman. I think he tried to make me sick driving his boat all crazy, but it didn't work. It was just a good, memorable time. I also thought it was special that he took time out of his Ohio trips to watch me play football.
