Byles Memorial Home - New London Obituary

Please Alan H. Robertson, 80, of Groton, passed away on February 23, 2024. He was surrounded by his loved ones at the time he passed.

Alan was born August 27, 1943, to Daniel and Alma Robertson.

Alan was an avid sports enthusiast especially when it came to the Boston Red Sox.  One of the happiest days of his life was when they won the World Series in 2004. He loved playing golf at Shennecossett Golf course and socializing at the Par 4.

Alan worked for many years in the Nuclear Power Plant industry which took him all around the country where he made lifelong friends. He retired from the Housing Department and Public works department at the Naval Submarine Base in 2004.

Alan is survived by his partner of 32 years, Kim Petchark. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary Robertson and cousin Dick and Judy Robertson.  He leaves behind his best friend, Phil Nahas who was always there for him through the good and bad times.

Alan’s caregivers, Tawney, Kristen, Karen and Jordan provided wonderful care to him so that he could remain at home.  It was a labor of love by all of them and they were greatly appreciated.

Byles-MacDougall Funeral Services handled the arrangements.  All services are private.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Groton Food Locker.
