My name is Alan Vaks. My father was Samuel Vaks, the oldest of 3 brothers, Samuel, Louis; and David, Alan's Dad. Alan is my cousin. I only have fleeting memories of Alan as a toddler as he grew up in Pittsburgh and I and my brother Richard grew up in Atlantic City and in California. I was however very close to Alan's father, my uncle David. Alan served our country as his father did before him, both combat veterans. I am deeply saddened to learn of our loss. I worked with Alan @ J. Sigal Shoes in the 80's, & remained friends until he moved. I'm saddened to learn of his passing. He was always happy, & fun to be around. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I was very saddened to here of Alan's passing. We worked together for many years at 19 engine and became close friends. I knew he could not wait to move to Florida and spend his time fishing. I hope he found happiness there. I remember when he got there he sent a post card, I still have it. So sorry we did not keep in touch. He will be missed. I send my sympathy to his family
