I have known Alasdair for many, many years. This breaks my heart to learn of his death. I knew him through all kinds of life experiences, and he and I had a lot in comon as friends. He and I shared diabetes, for one, and he was the person who inspired me to live with my disease instead of against it. The last time I spoke to him he was so happy in his life. My whole family loved him, and we often times have spoken of the fun and wonderful times shared in his company. He will be missed by me....

Alasdair was my neighbor, and while I didn't know him well, we exchanged greetings and pleasantries as we bumped into one another on street. My condolences to his family.
