Albert Armentano Obituary



Albert Patrick Armentano, 81, of East Hartford, loving husband of 50 years of Grace Jeannette (Morrison) Armentano, peacefully journeyed home to eternal life on Saturday, November 21, 2015. Born in Hartford on August 31, 1934, a son of the late Louis and Mary (Martino) Armentano, he had been a resident of East Hartford since 1978. Al was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a former member of the American Legion Post #77, East Hartford. A devout catholic, Al was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, East Hartford. A talented wood worker, he was a Cabinet Maker for many years prior to his retirement, and he later continued working in his work shop at his home making various crafts and furniture for his family and friends. Al was a former member of the Lions Club in Enfield and was a fan of the New York Jets. He also liked golf and gardening but most of all he was a devoted husband to Jeannette and family man who loved spending time with his family and friends. Besides his beloved wife, Al is survived by a son, Doral Rymer of Van Buren, MO; a daughter, Laura Lee Landis of Van Buren, MO; two brothers, Louis Armentano of Enfield, Nicholas Armentano in California; a sister, Mary Ann Thomas of Tolland; a brother-in-law, Watson Morrison of East Hartford; a sister-in-law, Beverly Anderson of Wethersfield; several grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Along with his parents, Al was predeceased by four brothers, Anthony, Frank, John, and Robert Armentano; and two sisters, Carmella Conlon and Concetta Ferris. Funeral service will be Tuesday (November 24, 2015) at 9:30 am from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, May Road/Brandon Road, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will be at Veteran's Memorial Field #2-Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel TODAY from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Albert's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66676.
