Albert Sidney Boggs
Easley

Mr. Albert Sidney Boggs, 86, husband of Daisy Burgess Boggs and the late Mary Louise Finley Boggs, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at his home.

Born in Anderson County, a son of the late Robert Lee and Nora Bridges Boggs, Mr. Boggs retired from the US Navy with twenty-three years service and later retired from Union Carbide-Kemet Division as an engineer. He was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are three sons, Richard S. Boggs of Easley, James Boggs (Jann) of Springville, Alabama, and Rev. Scott Willis (Robin) of Easley; and three granddaughters, Kristin Marie Boggs, Anna Willis, and Mara Willis. In addition to his first wife and parents, Mr. Boggs was predeceased by a son, John A. Boggs; a granddaughter, Pamela Sue Yearta; three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Zach Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Escort of Honor will be the Men's Bible Class of Pendleton Street Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

The family is at the home.

I served with Chief while on the Newport News in Vietnam. He was a good role model and a good man. Fair winds and following seas Chief.

I didn't serve with Master Chief Boggs, or know that I ever met him a a reunion, but he's a Shipmate, and I would like to offer my sympathies and condolences to his family on his passing.
