Manning-Heffern-O’Neill Funeral Home - Pawtucket Obituary

Albert Joseph Bouffard, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 3rd, two months after receiving a cancer diagnosis, at the age of 92. The last remaining child of Nelson and Anne (Macomber) Bouffard, Albert lived most of his life in Pawtucket. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Anita Hayden and Dorothy Snell, and four brothers, Nelson, Frederick, and twins Joseph and Robert. Albert is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Albert graduated from Goff Junior High School in Pawtucket and Cumberland High School in 1947.  He served for two years as a medical technician in the Army during the Korean War, where he was based in Germany. With the help of the GI Bill, Albert attended mortuary school in Boston, and once licensed, worked at the Rebella Funeral Home in East Providence for a short while. Albert also worked at Ansonia Wire Company in Cumberland for twelve years, and later worked for twenty years in maintenance at Handy and Harman in Attleboro until his retirement in 1991.

Albert will be remembered for his sharp wit, storytelling, and remarkable memory which enabled him to recount the finer details and dates of family history and key events. A devout Catholic, Albert was a long-time communicant of St. Leo the Great Church (now called St. John Paul II Parish) in Pawtucket.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 7th at 11AM in St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Visiting hour prior to the Mass from 9:30-10:30 AM.

Burial will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
