Albert Charles Sr. was born September 21, 1936, in Ville Platte, LA. He was the fourth child born to Wilson and Orelia Charles.  He was raised in Plaisance, LA and attended school in the St. Landry Parish.

He married Clara Mae Johnson on April 5, 1958, and remained in faithful matrimony for 65 years. To this union nine children were born, eight daughters and one son.

They moved to Houston in 1958 and joined Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Boylan. They later joined the Garden of Gethsemane Baptist Church in 1970 under the leadership of the late Rev. R.E. Daniels, Sr. where he was a faithful deacon for 17 years. In 1991, he and his family joined Lilly Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Terry K. Anderson, where he was a faithful deacon and a member of Sunday School Class # 3. He was designated and granted Deacon Emeritus status in August 2016.

He was employed with the American Warehouse for 36 years as a forklift operator and he retired in 1994. After retirement he continued to work various part-time jobs for 14 years. He had many hobbies, but his favorite was playing and beating everyone at the domino table. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
