Albert R. Di Maggio 1930 - 2021
Albert Di Maggio passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on October 24th. Born in Brooklynn, New York. Albert grew up with his Italian immigrant parents along side a brother. After graduating high school, Albert drafted into the army and was immediately sent to Korea where he spent his enlistment. Upon his discharge, he returned to Brooklyn and married his longtime sweetheart Marie Francis Blacci on November 8th,1953. It wasn't long before the newly weds followed Albert's parents and made their way to Sicily-like southern California. Albert and his father opened Di Maggio's Italian Restaurant in North Hollywood. The DiMaggio's purchased a new home in North Hollywood where they resided for 65 years while raising five children. To spend more time with his family, Albert sold the restaurant and took a day job servicing grocery stores. Albert was a devoted family man who loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, golfing, and of course, cooking. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marie, his brother Vincent Di Maggio, children Sam Di Maggio, Joe Di Maggio, Donna Di Maggio Urban ,Dianne Di Maggio, Albert Di Maggio, four Grandsons, two great granddaughters and one great grandson. The funeral will be held on November 19th at San Fernando Mission at 11:00am.
