Albert W. Dolan Jr.

A personal addition to my earlier note. Our class had Mr. Dolan for Physics at Shaw High in 1950-51, 1951-52 and 1952-53.

He was a great man.

This is a tribute to a dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic teacher, scientist, motivator, friend, gentle man, and a pretty good belter of tunes.

Albert W. Dolan, Jr., taught us strong basics of Physics and Science, including mass, force, energy, motion, light, sound and nuclear radiation, and their intricate applications. But he also taught us to observe our surroundings and to try to understand what made them tick.

A great teacher

Dear Mr. Dolan - You tried your best to teach me Physics. I'm afraid your success was limited but my admiration for you was limitless.

I remember Mr. Dolan well. He was my physics teacher at Shaw High in the early 50's. He was a fantastic teacher who shared his depth of knowledge with a flair that made the subject intriguing.

I graduated from Shaw High School in 1956 and Mr. Dolan had a significant influence on me and helped set my direction as a metallurgical engineer

I personally did not have Al Dolan when I attended Shaw. My husband, Dave, class of 1952, did and introduced me to him at our 50th Class Reunion. He was very interesting to talk to and his memory was remarkable. He will be greatly missed.

Al was a friend.He was always helpful to me and my students at Willoughby South High School.Always went out of his way with a smile and a "Hi Bob!"

I too was happy to see Al last Sept. He was an inspiration. He remembered me and my family after all of these years. A great influence on many many people.
