Not sure what to say?

He was always a kind and gentle man. One of the best optometrists I have ever known. Whenever I was in office for an appointment I felt I was in the best of hands. He is sorely missed, but I’m sure he is happy to be missing the 2020 pandemic!

I was fortunate to work with both Dr D and Dr Osborne. Always had a smile, a thoughtful employer, and h3 loved his family and friends Holds a special place in our hearts. Dee Ann and David Graham

I've know Al since his days working with Dr Osborne. My last appointment a month ago lasted a couple hours as we talked about his family and mine and just hung out. He was the best, and I will miss him.

My condolences to Joe and family. I moved to New Jersey 15 years ago and have not seen an eye doctor here yet. Would see Al on my yearly trip to Reno, he was such a great doc. Would always sneak me in. He will be missed.

I was Al's patient for 19 years. My husband and I considered him a friend as well as my doctor. We were out of town and were shocked to read the article today in the Reno Gazette-Journal by Katie Coombs. What a loss to our entire community. Al was special and will be missed. Our prayers go out to his family.

What made it obvious to me that Dr. Dufur was an enthusiastic practitioner and a generous soul was that he dedicated nearly ten extra minutes in the examination room to responding to my fervid queries about canine eye physiology as we mulled over the diagnosis of the animal eye specialist, where the challenge was to keep low the intraocular pressure of Stevie the blind Boxerthen a ward of the Nevada Humane Societylest the dog have to have his eyeballs removed to avoid the growing pain. I am new to Reno and had only one appointment with Dr. Dufur, but I liked and trusted him immediately. He reminded me so much of my last employer, also an optometrist, that I knew he would be an excellent choice for my new optometrist. I am very saddened by his passing. My thought and prayers go out to his family.

Just read about Dr. Dufur's passing in the paper today. When I moved here 5 years ago I became a patient of his. He was a lovely man and gentleman..a word not applied to many folk these days. My heart goes out to his mother, sons, partner and to all of his extended patient family. He will be greatly missed.

Oh my gosh! I was just told of Dr. Dufur's passing. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. He was the first eye doctor I ever saw referred to me by a friend. As a 50 year old, he explained to me how my eye sight worked and how it declines as we get older. Besides his explaining to me all about my eyes, he was so personable. It never failed that we talked about our Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was an awesome guy, who was taken way too soon! R.I.P.
