Not sure what to say?

My hat's off to a great warrior and Naval pilot! I was making a tribute model of "8-T-1" and planning to tell Bert about it when I got it done (sigh).

My condolences to the family.

I salute this American Hero! My condolences to his family for their loss. Thankfully, Capt. Earnest lived a long and productive life and served our country as a true Patriot. I am told my Great Uncle,Benjamin Doggett checked him out in the Avenger. My Great Uncle was lost flying from Guadalcanal with Capt. Earnest in VT-8. I am disappointed I did not get to meet each of these fine Americans.
God Bless you Albert Earnest, may you have only tailwinds.

I'm just a Navy brat infatuated with the lives of these genuine American heros. My dad was one. I'm currently reading "A Dawn like Thunder" and am totally engrossed. Capt. Earnest just signed a picture of an Avenger I have in August, 2009. I will keep that forever, passing it down to my children. My sincere condolences towards the family, how proud they must be of their heritage.

I read about Capt. Earnest's passing this morning and wanted to pass on my condolences to his family. What a great American hero who I am sure will be remembered by many whose lives he touched. Tom O'Sullivan, VMI '82
