I never knew he suffered from polio in his youth, that must have made his life challenging beyond words, and the after-effects as well. He and Mardi have always been such great neighbors. Al will be long remembered as a caring, compassionate person. In deepest sympathy for his family.

As a total stranger, I was struck by the long and active life of Mr. Godreau as a polio survivor. Having known several such survivors, including my father who completed med school after being paralyzed, it seems they did not enjoy such longevity. My condolences to the family and a big salute to Mister Godreau, USN.
