Cousin Al was a part of my life growing up in the San Fernando Valley with my parents in the 1960s and 1970s. He had a big personality, a good sense of humor and a very generous spirit. He worked hard and was a devoted husband and father. I will miss him.
My partner, Ben, and I send our deepest sympathy to Carol, Linda, Candy and the family. Although we are unable to attend the services, Al and all of you will be in our thoughts.

To the Goldstein Family: I started with Boys in 1965. Joe was a true leader and a wonderful human being. When Al joined the company he was my boss. I held a very high respect for everyone in this family. They were all my mentors and helped me grow as an individual and grocer. This is a family that starting with Joe, recognized the importance of their people and always treated everyone with respect. They truly were diversified long before it became the thing to be. Mr. Goldstein was one of the first people I met when I started in the business in 1978 - and today I am still working with people who got their start at Boys. I am so sorry for Candy, whom I have loved, laughed and cried with over the years. Mr. Goldstein has left quite a legacy in the form of his children, and all those young people he brought up in the Industry.

al, jerry and lynn, my wife and i, shared many wonderful moments together during the height of our careers in the food business, he was tough food manager who was always fair and honest. i will always remeber our evenings out and our visits to some of the food conventions
