Al was my friend and colleague on The Daily Bruin. First guy I ever saw wearing a yarmulke and eating a sandwich made of kosher flatbread, in the DB office. Of course we were both young then and neither of us had had much experience anywhere. I last saw him when he had just gone into TV news. A good man!
