Although I never knew Mr. Hrubetz, it is apparent that he was a most unusual pioneer in the oil and natural gas field. And was able to balance his career with practicing his faith.

I feel honored to have called Al my friend. Al had a great love for his wife Rose, children, and grandchildren. He spoke of them often. Al was a great ambassador for the Village of Maryville, Illinois. He was Maryville's own Indiana Jones, explorer, and adventurer. He told me many times how much he loved growing up in Maryville and he would never forget where he came from. I will miss speaking to him about his many explorations and adventures. I was at InterFirst Bank Dallas as my first job out of college and worked with Mr. Hrubetz. I was in my early 20s and knew little about the business then - he took time to work with me and teach me a lot about oil and gas development. A class act. RIP.
