Not sure what to say?

he was my biology teacher and had my sisters and brothers as well. I remember him telling a story about a neice ( who was just a toddler) who could catch a house fly in her two fingers in a pinching grip. Odd things we remember, but he was a great guy!-Anne Cannistra

The Slovenian Women's Union Scholarship Foundation was privileged to have Al serve as a member of its Scholarship Committee. We are very sorry to learn of his passing.
Kindest wishes to each of you, his family.
Mary Turvey, Director
Slovenian Women's Union Scholarship Foundation

I'm sorry I cannot be present personally to bid farewell to Al Jelinek and extend my sympathy to his family. Al and I shared an interest and pride in our Slovenian ancestry and heritage. I will miss our conversations and his friendship.

Vidim tvoj obraz,
slišim tvoj glas.
Še korak mi je znan,
ko sprašujem zaman ...
Zakaj te vec ni?
Le spomin še živi ...

I see your face,
I hear your voice.
A step we known,
when I ask for nothing ...
Why do not more?
Only the memory are still alive ...

I graduated from Pulaski in 1988 and had Mr.Jelinek for biology. He also had my brothers and sisters who all graduated in the 70's. He was an awesome teacher. Rest In Peace Mr Jelinek!

I fondly remember Mr. Jelinek at Pulaski having taken one of his classes. Mr. Jelinek had command of his class AND he made it interesting with flashes of his subtle humor.I'm saddened to read of his passing, but glad I had him as a teacher. Kind thoughts and prayers to Mr. Jelinek, his friends and family.
Carolyn Dutch (Walkowiak) Class of '66.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Jelinek family. So sorry for your loss.

A huge loss for all of us at St Peter's Episcopal Church. A veritable pillar of the church, Al seemed to be involved in everything, and knew how to do just about anything. He was a warm and caring man, and I have missed him since he became ill. My heart goes out to Alfie and the rest of his family. --Kathie Farseth

I met Al just 7 years ago when i joined St.Peter's.I apreciated his welcome to me and enjoyed his jokes and funny comments. He was a very honourable man and cared deeply for less fortunate people.
