A great loss. I met Al and Trudy in 1989 through our mutual friend, Theo Bikel. I will remember most the lively conversations about politics, art and the world at large. Al & Trudy were brilliant, encouraging lights in very challenging times. I will miss them. Grateful to have known them.

By the time I met AJK he had already had a life of tremendous success, which he shared generously with his family and friends. A font of wisdom delivered with merciless humor, Al was inspirational and accomplished. He was a spontaneous grown up, the kind who had time to actually relate to the kids' friends. This morning I was reading the LATimes and smiling the obituaries (as I do daily), I saw Albert Kallis´ obituary and was saddened and angry. I met Albert only once in March 2024 at a UCLA Dinner for 12 Strangers which I have hosted at Belmont Retirement Village for many years.
