Guerra & Gutierrez Mortuary - Montebello Obituary

Albert “Big Al” Mendoza Olguin, 69, resident of Rialto, California, entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 with his family by his side.
Albert was born on May 27, 1950 in Los Angeles, CA to Cornelio and Mary Olguin. On August 14, 1971 he married Delores Contreraz. Albert was employed as a refuse collection truck operator for the City of Los Angeles for 30 years before retiring in 2009. He loved antiques and often brought home “treasures” he found on the job.
Albert collected everything from coins and model cars to movie memorabilia. He enjoyed watching all types of sports, especially the horse races where he would bet on all the longshots. Albert loved playing cards, listening to music, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Albert is survived by his devoted wife Delores; his cherished daughter, Lorraine; and loving sons, Richard, Albert Jr, and Mario; his eleven precious grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to his life.
In May of this year, Albert accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was very excited and spoke about it often. His family is very proud of him for taking the life changing step for his eternal life.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, July 17 at 10:30am, at Guerra & Gutierrez Mortuary, 5800 E. Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, California. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 966 Potrero Grande Drive, Rosemead, California.

Not sure what to say?

Uncle Albert will be truly missed and not forgotten, so many fun family memories I hold as a child. One fun one was the barbecues and firework shows you put on at Aunt Olivia's house on Lavery and the way you use to tease us with all your snacks and cakes. Now your with all our family lived ones who have passed. RIP Uncle Albert.

Rest In Peace Uncle Al.

You were always so jolly and playful with us kids growing up Ill always remember your playful heart. Your pain and suffering is gone now. Your with our other beloved family members now.

Uncle Al, thank you for all the wonderful memories youve left us with. When I think of you, three things instantly come to mind: laughter, Marilyn Monroe, and yummy snacks. Sad that youve left us but glad that you can now rest peacefully. You will forever remain in our hearts. The Marinelli Family❤
