I will miss you always. Thank you for the privilege and honor to be your eldest daughter. I will do my best to follow in your footsteps.

Our paths first crossed at Barona Mission on Christmas Eve. I was so moved by the special person who incensed his way to the altar. That was a very special Christmas Eve, Beth, and that very special person was Albert "Boxie" Phoenix. I thank God for the privilege of knowing him even if so briefly. With love, Anne Bodack, West HIlls, Ca.

Deep condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Phoenix from the CSU San Marcos Anthropology Department. Mr. Phoenix was an inspiring force of will and compassion. His loss will be felt by all.

Boxie was one of the most amazing men I've ever known. His knowledge, his humor and wisdom taught me so much about the Barona people and their courage and veracity. He will truly be missed by the vast group of people whose lives he touched. Rest in Peace dear friend. I will always value your guidance and teaching. 'uuchuch nya'miny 'eyay'iihan anyewaay. Deepest condolences to the Phoenix family and the Tribe. Cheryl Hinton
