I worked with Al at the Museum from 1990 to his retirement in 2004. I always admired his tireless tenacity, determination, and devotion to the Museum. He was a one of a kind interesting guy and could tell some really funny stories! My sincere condolences to Anita, Warren, Melanie and grandkids. He will be missed.

Thank you Dorothy and Dennis, for your kind words and prayers. He was a special man.

Anita, Warren and family, I am so sorry to hear of Al's death. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. My Love to all. Dorothy

Al Potts was a gentleman dedicated to sharing the rich history and heritage of Onslow County, NC. Upon his arrival in Onslow, he worked diligently as a volunteer to help establish the Onslow County Museum in 1976, and later as its first paid director. Words cannot express my sincere thanks to Al and Anita for their devotion in helping to share our rich heritage of their southern adopted home. Anita, Warren and his family will remain in my prayers!
