Albert M. Ruggio, 76, of Fisher Street, Attleboro, a paving contractor, died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
He was the husband of Norma (Bregnard) Ruggio.
Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on March 26, 1927 Mr. Ruggio was a son of the late Carmine and Mary (Anelunde) Ruggio.
He was educated in Attleboro schools. Mr. Ruggio owned and operated the former Bay State Paving Company in Attleboro for over twenty years. Earlier he was employed by Randall Bros. Asphalt.
Mr. Ruggio was formerly a member of the Red Fox Club in Rehoboth, the Lonicut Beagle Club and the Attleboro Moose Club. He was a lifelong resident of Attleboro and an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Ruggio is survived by two sons: Stephen G. Ruggio of Ashby, MA and Carmine Ruggio of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters: Donna Medeiros of Mansfield and Annette Ruggio in North Carolina; a sister: Virginia Ruggio of Attleboro, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two nieces: Kathleen Coniff and Joanne Longo, both of Attleboro.
Mr. Ruggio was the father of the late Regina Richards and brother of the late John A. Ruggio and Delores Raddatz.
A private funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Msgr. Daniel F.
Hoye, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Church, in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro.
Private cremation took place North Purchase Crematory, Attleboro.
