Father Shamon will always remain vivid in our memories. Our visit to his library a few years ago was memorable. His appearances at our first Friday masses with his humor was looked forward to. His homilies were always appropriate and delivered without a microphone. In May 2001 we joined him with a small group from Syracuse including Bishop Moynihan on a pilgriamge to Lourdes with the Knights and Dames of Malta. When it was found out that it was our wedding anniversary, Bishop Moynihan...

Father Shamon was a great priest and I miss him for the rest of my life but I know he is in a better place and getting many rewards for all the wonderful work he has done here on earth. He made me a better person not only in faith but in education. Tyburn will never be the same he was the heart and soul of that school and I hope we can all live up to his name and make (like he wanted)it a big Catholic shool. I love you Father and you I am praying that I may someday see you again.

Father Shamon was a wonderful man. He was brilliant, honest, and caring.
During the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus,
Father Shamon, Gilda Geiss, and I co-authored the booklet, "Christopher Columbus, Forty Facts". His knowledge and his efforts were a great asset to this project. I will never forget him.
