I always considered Al a good friend as well as an outstanding scientist.
Betsy and I regret not having spent more time with Al and Irene both before and after his retirement. I will always remember his welcome when we came to Cornell-we lived in the Silverman home the first year we were here, while Al and Irene were on sabbatical at CERN..
