I was searching for you to just say "Hi" and see how you were doing. I was surprised and saddened to learned of your passing. I remember serving under your command in the Texas Army National Guard in the 1980's. You were a great leader and never asked anyone to do something you were not willing to do yourself. You always made those under your command feel as part of the whole team effort never just a piece of the team. You always brought out Esprit de Corps with those who served with...

I went to NMMI with Albert and have never forgotten him. He was always the one who had his duties done first and would be helping others. I am not the slightest bit surprised to hear of his success in the military. He would have been successful at anything he chose. I'm so sorry for your loss, and wish I could have sent my condolences much sooner. He was a fine man.

I love u brother....I miss u everyday.

I just heard about Albert's death. I went to NMMI with him and we were "Rats" in the same troop. He was sharp right off the bat and I knew, even then, he was going to go far. My deepest condolences to the Smart family.
