Albert Woodrow Smith COLUMBIA - Albert Woodrow Smith, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 24, 2016. Albert was born in Columbia, February 11, 1952, and was a son of Margaret B. Smith and the late Woodrow Smith. He was the beloved brother of David A. Smith and Charles L. Smith, both of Columbia, and was predeceased by his sister, Peggy Smith Horky, formerly of Augusta, S.C. He was a graduate of Dreher High School and the University of South Carolina, with an undergraduate degree in English and a master's degree in language and literacy. He was a great lover of books and an avid reader of many literary works. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in Saint Martin's-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church Memorial Gardens, with The Rev. Sally Johnson officiating. Visitation with the family will be immediately after the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
