Dear Albert,
The phone rang. The UserID showed your Dad's name. I was about to ask him if he was still in Kentucky or back home in Virginia when I noted the somber tone of his voice. He was apparently holding back emotions; he simply said "I want to let you know that Albert passed away." I was completely in shock. All I could do was to muster up some words of sympathy with your Dad and I asked him how your Mom was holding up. Your Mom came to the phone and she was all in tears. Again...

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Dr. Albert Tu, your son. May God console you and his family. I believe that God will reward him for what he had done to his patients.

I knew Albert in his Virginia years--we attended the same high school and college. I will remember him for his intelligence, humor, and his great listening skills. My prayers are with his family at this sad time. My deepest sympathy.

I just found out about Albert's passing. We had lost touch over the years, but I have great memories of high school and college with Albert.
