We were all at the gym one day and Al was doing sit-ups. Al´s lawyer came to see him but Al was not stopping his sit-ups until he was done. Totally focused. Al´s lawyer got down on his side and did pushups with him in a suit and tie and Al finally lost his concentration laughing but still finished his set. Life was good back then. God Bless Al and all who loved him.

I just heard about Al's passing yesterday, and I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family. I haven't seen Al since the 60's and I agree that he was always a very positive person that loved to get a laugh, as well as share one whenever possible. It wasn't until I knew Al for a couple of years that my mom gave me the good news that we were cousins - and we both got a laugh out of that. Between a war, going off to college and life itself, we've lost touch with one another...

I’ve had the good fortune of meeting Al in the late 1980’s in capacity as a professional contractor, and serving with him on community economic development boards, in addition to the MSC School Board.
He was a joy to speak with due to his sincere interest and enthusiasm in sharing his insights – whether business or personal.
Al’s great sense of humor was his hallmark. I’ll always remember his self-deprecating humor when he told me that he was on the last Mount Saint Charles varsity...

Al was a classmate of mine at Mt St Charles in the Class of '65. It was great to see him at our 50th reunion. Al was just one of those people who were bigger than life in high school and he was tate same guy at the 50th reunion. My best memory of him at the reunion was when we were walking into the arena as the Class of '65 when he turned to me and said that he had to keep joking or he would start to cry. Smart witty funny a loyal friend who always treated people with respect. A guy who achieved much with a worldly vision while remaining true to his roots. A one of a kind from our days at Mount and all the years after. He will be missed

I'd known Al since we were teenagers and later we served on the Main Street advisory board and of course would see him barreling along the bike path. Proud to have been his friend. My sympathies to his entire family.
