Not sure what to say?

I am so very sorry to hear this. Like my sisters I grew up next door to to the VanDykes. I remember being pushed all the time on the wooden swing in their front yard next to the driveway that Mr. V. put up. I loved that. I even learned to ride my bike without training wheels in their driveway.

Lemon drops remind me of Mrs. V, as do the painted pencil holder I still have in my home and all the wonderful Christmas ornaments she made our family.

Mr. V will be missed...

My father and Al were friends that span more than 65 years. They met with a common love,Jesus Christ their Savior. My memories of vacation time and Gun Lake will always be cherished. "Uncle Al" always had a smile on his face and his wit was refreshing. He always had a litle trick or gadget to show us.I don't think there was any project he was afraid to tackle. He always kept his faith in the forefront.I am sorry that I could not come to express my condolence. My prayers and thoughs are with you.

Al and Jennette were such good friends of my Mom and Dad,George and Helen Schuiling, and now they are all in Heaven together praising the Lord!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

I am saddened by Mr. VanDyke's passing. We kept in touch (even emailing!) over the years. I grew up next door to the VanDyke's and he and Kitty were more like grandparents then neighbors. I will keep you all in my prayers during this difficult time.

My sisters and I grew up next door to Mr.& Mrs. VanDyke. Memories,of feeding Heidi, their dog, while they were away; visitng the pens that kept the nutria; the nicknames that Al gave to all the neighborhood kids(I'm Chicky)and learning to embroider from Mrs. VanDyke; are very dear to me...As were the both of them. Thank you, Mr.& Mrs. VanDyke for being wonderful, caring friends and neighbors! To Judy and Scott(and famiies) my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I remember so well all the vacations we took with "Uncle Al". Now he will vacation in heaven with Aunt Nett, Peggy, and my dad Bud, and the many others that love God.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
