Not sure what to say?

I served with Mr Van Pelt in VF-74. I found him to be a friendly and professional person. My condolences to all.

RIP Bolt.. Think of you often and the nice times we had when we would visit. Renee wishes she could have seen you more. You are her favorite Uncle and male role model.
Wish things had turned out differently. You were one of the Best! Always in our thoughts and hearts ♥ Love you...
Laurette and Reneé

RIP, Bolt you were a magnificent but reluctant Hero. You were so humble.I miss you xoxo, your sister in law Laurette ❤

Sometimes adventures start too soon and end too late. Bolt, you always pushed the envelop's edge and were admired for so doing. Great to be called your shipmate.

This is a fleeting and late wish to send love and honor a man our father deeply admired; one of the few men he looked up to -- perhaps the only. I met him when I was "knee-high" and never lost that awe of just what a solid and stoic man he was. I hope he and my dad are busy in the wide blue now, and no more need to check their 6. All our respects, The Sandal Kids *Danielle Marie Sandal (Bob's eldest daughter)

I just saw this obituary as Bolt and my friend, Gatbsy Sottile, were great friends. They flew together in VF-74 and remained friends throughout their naval aviation careers. I never met Bolt but I know from my friend that he was one of the "good guys." Gatsby called Bolt when he was living in Colorado but then both their healths worsened. Gatsby died in 2011 but told me of many stories of Bolt and flying with him. My sympathies to his family and friends. They don't make aviators like...

Love you Uncle Bolt

Bolt was my brother in law. His passing leaves us all deeply saddened. I have many memories of visits with him .when he and my sister lived in Hawaii . Bolt giving me a ride on his Harley ..Making sure we saw everything on the island including a special lunch at the officers formal dining room. He was kind, generous and as heroes go,larger than life, but always humble. He ,my sister Claudette and Jon would come to visit us in Maine and my daughter Renee would be so excited to see him,as would...

Bolt was our neighbor for 5 years or so and was the true definition of a gentleman and patriot. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing. God Bless and please accept our sincere condolences.
