As Chaplain of the Tarheel Base of the U.S. Submarine Veterans, Inc., I extend our condolences to Al's family. We established a memorial to Al's submarine, the S-28, in Wilmington and have known him for several years. Al was one of the few survivors of the S-28 when she was lost during World War II.
