passed away on December 31, 2020, at the age of 96. Dear father of Gary (Gayle), Dennis (Kate), Alan (Shelly), Dale (Sally), Glen (Tammy), and Greg. Loving grandfather of Garrett, Sarah, Anna, Ryan, Sam, Alex (deceased), Dana, Isabella, Edward, and Veronica. Great-grandfather of Isla, Lilly, and Oaklyn. He is survived by his sister Gail and preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. Mr. Zdolshek proudly served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII on a B-17 in the 381st Bomb Group. He flew in 23 missions in the air offensive throughout Europe. He retired after 56 years from General Motors Parma plant, at the age of 80. Al was very active in UAW Local 1005. He was also very proud of his Slovenian heritage and was named Slovenian Man of the Year. Al had a tremendous work ethic, working as many as three jobs to send his sons to Catholic schools. He will be remembered as a family man who cherished time spent with those he loved. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 7th, 2021 at 11:00 and will be held at the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus 3649 E. 65th Street. Family and friends will be received at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital [email protected]. Arrangements made by FORTUNA FUNERAL HOME 216-520-7335.
