She was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy Crawford Jackson Beard and James Washington Jackson; brother, Henry Edgar "Eddie" Jackson; her husband of 57 years, William Shirley Davis; her son, James Lorenza Davis; and grandson, Thornton Douglas "Petey" Davis Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, William E. and wife, Shirley, Thornton D. and wife, Loretta, Kenneth E. and wife, Deborah; daughter-in-law, Hilda P. Davis; two daughters, Shirley B. Davis II, Charlene D. Cousins and husband, Raymond; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Edith D. Booker and Vernelle M. Nelson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her remains rest at W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, 2700 North Ave. Funeral services will be conducted at Providence Park Baptist Church, 468 E. Ladies Mile Road, Richmond, 23222 on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Jerome C. Ross officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Remains will lie in state one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Providence Park Baptist Church.
