Fond Memories

Alberta was filled with energy always seeking self education and physical fitness. She was smart and outspoken on all issues that directly affected the better good. She was active in our Senior Center and I know we will miss her, however the memories of her and Ken will always be a legacy. This picture of her in her Halloween costume shows her demure side , Rest in peace Alberta and I will lift in prayer all the broken hearted.

I had the pleasure of knowing Alberta through a book club with friends. She loved to read and always participated in discussions and I know that she loved dancing even in her later years. Recently I came across a verse on "Ten Thoughts for the Thoughtful" that she had included in a wonderful book of "Joy" published through the Olmsted Community Church she belonged to. Alberta was a women of many talents, interests, wit, much knowledge and a devout faith. She will be missed but we know she...

Some people you meet in life insert a special warm feeling into your memory bank. Alberta (and Ken) provided that gift for me.

Our family had the good fortune to live across the street from Ken and Alberta for 20 years as well as worship together at Olmsted Community Church. They were a source of inspiration for us as they remained very physically active (I think Alberta could outwalk anyone!), took impeccable care of their historic home, and were always very neighborly with a great sense of humor. They are both missed on River Road and in Olmsted Community Church.

I enjoyed getting to meet and know Alberta through events at the Jenkins Place Senior Center. She and I became instant friends and I would seek her out whenever we would meet as I enjoyed her clever wit, humor, and grace. My sincere sympathy to her family.

Following Ken and Alberta as Chairman of Tri-C (our Church couples group, Alberta invited our family over after church for a gourmet brunch. Yum. (she was a good cook too.) I guess it was to thank us for accepting the job. So many fond memories of the fun times we shared.

Alberta was a sweet neighbor I enjoyed talking to when she walked by on River Road. She inspired me to walk more. I remember our golden retriever dog running to greet her (all 90 pounds of him) and she took it all in stride. She and Ken were dressed to the 9's in a Heritage Days parade. They seemed to have a lot of fun! So sorry for her family's loss.
