Alberto Byington, Jr. peacefully passed away at a hospital in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the age of 53. Alberto was born on March 19, 1964 to Alberto Byington, Sr. and Virginia Susana Guerra Byington in Falfurrias, Texas.
He began his education in Falfurrias where he participated in football and band. Because of his talent as a trumpet player and his willingness to help others, he often played TAPS as an honor for deceased veterans at the cemeteries in Falfurrias.
He was a 1982 graduate of Falfurrias High School and then continued his education at Pan American University in Edinburg where he graduated in 1987. Ten years later, in May of 1997, Alberto earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Saint Mary's School of Law.
He worked in San Antonio for a few years at an insurance defense firm and eventually opened his own private practice, the Law Office of Alberto Byington, Jr., located in Falfurrias. Alberto was currently the Assistant District Attorney for the 79th Judicial District of Jim Wells County. He owned a home in San Antonio but chose to reside in Falfurrias to better serve his community and clients. Alberto enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father and uncles, Alfredo Byington, Jr. and Alejandro Guerra.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia S. Byington of Falfurrias; brother, Ricardo "Richard" A. Byington of San Antonio; sister, Kristina A. Byington of Falfurrias; uncle, Alonzo (Margot) Byington of Houston, Texas; aunt, Alicia C. (Tom) Laws of Talihina, Oklahoma; numerous cousins and many extended family members.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias with Father Matthew Stephan officiating. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Albert was one of my favorite people and lawyers. I enjoyed working with him when he was an insurance claims handler and then as a lawyer at our Law Firm. I am truly honoured to have had him in my life.
I am grieving the loss of my wife and know your grief will be difficult but please take it one day at a time in the able Hands of Our Lord and Savior.

Albert was a great help to me when I was the Wesley Nurse and asked him for advice and help when I was dealing with legal issues concerning my clients. He never denied me help.
