Mr. Macias was a good friend,I enjoyed visiting Alberto when he worked on my bajo sexto. He liked to go eat breakfast at Mary Lou Cafe. I admire Alberto for being a good friend. He will be missed greatly. Elec Ruiz JR(San Antonio Tx)

I had the pleasure of meeting ALBERTO MACIAS a few years back while picking up some bajo strings. Last year I asked to have a sexto built, which his son George started for me. I visited and talked to Alberto each time I stopped by to check the progress of my instrument. The last good chat we had was when my good friend Claudio Perez and I visited his shop, and again when I went to pick up my bajo a couple of months ago. We talked while George put the last finishing touches on it. Alberto...

My deepest sympathy to the Macias Family. Mr. Macias worked on my quinto and restored it for me. He did a beautiful job of course. He will be greatly missed by the SA musical community.

Our deepest sympathy to the Macias Family from the Lupe Guzman and Joe Guzman family in Washington State. Words cannot describe the service and friendship we enjoyed with the world's most sought after family of Bajo Sexto makers which started for us in 1963 with the founder, Martin. Alberto will surely be missed. We will forever treasure the bajo sextos made by Martin for Lupe, and the one and only curly maple bajo he made for Lupe as a gift for Joe. May he rest in peace.

mis sinceros pesames a la familia Macias. Mr. Albert was a real good person. he extended a lending hand to me and i am very greatfull for that and that is how i will remember him. as a radio disc jock he would call sometimes and request a song or two and he would invite me to his house. i will always hold fond memories. Thank you Mr. Albert and we will meet again.
