It is with a somber heart that we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mom Albina Pena Lopez. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and humble best friend. She left this world on June 27, 2021 at the age of 69 after a short battle with cancer.
Albina was born to Antonio Pena and Albina Millan on December 17, 1951 in Estacion Consuelo, Chihuahua, Mexico. A dedicated life-long Catholic, she devoted her life to serving our lord. After meeting the love of her life and husband Jose Albino Lopez in Mesilla, the two created a loving and welcoming home in Dona Ana, New Mexico, where they remained. It was there they gave life, wisdom, mentoring and spiritual guidance to their four sons and one daughter. Albina also helped raise five of her grandchildren of whom were cared, loved, and served countless burritos. She always encouraged them to work hard and pursue their dreams.
Above all, Albina loved spending time with her family. She created everlasting memories by always providing a welcoming home filled with bountiful and delicious meals, well known for bringing the family together. Her siblings knew her as Guerita, nieces and nephews knew her as Tia Guera. They have always been a part of those memories and important staples of her life as well. She was a wonderful friend to the lifelong neighbors. She will be missed for her loving smile, conversations, and her dedication to her spiritual life.
She is survived by her loving children and spouses, Jose Antonio, Orlando and Gisela, Gabriel and Beth, Elizabeth and Sean, Robert and Kiana and her 12 grandchildren, 5 brothers, 1 sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Albina Pena, her sister Guadalupe Sigala, brother Agapito Pena and her husband Jose Albino Lopez.
