Alda N. Burns

July 24, 1921 - December 12, 2014

Mom left us to join the love of her life, Robert Burns, on December 12, 2014. She will be remembered as a devout Catholic, an avid reader, and a wizard at crossword puzzles and word games, but most of all for her kind, caring, and gentle...

Not sure what to say?

Burns Family,

My condolences on the loss of Alda. I had the privilege of knowing Bob and Alda my entire life through my parents and the Squire Club. The Squire Club was a great group, none nicer than Bob and Alda. I remember dropping in on the club on Saturday afternoons to find my Dad playing pool and shaking for drinks with Bob and Harry Lewis. It was so generous of Bob and Alda to open their home on Christmas Eve. They were exceptionally nice people and are sadly missed.

Dear Tom,
I'm sorry I didn't include your name on my first message. I don't know your other sisters and brother well, but I certainly know and love you!! I'm so sorry, Patty often told me how much you were loved by your mom.now I know where your kindness and care came from. You will always be remembered by me.for that! You are very special, I feel blessed to have you and Patty in my life. Your mom will always be right by your side.don't ever forget that??

The Squire Club

Dears Kathy, Ellen, Rich, Tom & Patty,
My condolences on your mother's passing. Being the oldest of the Squire Club kids I have some great memories of being spoiled by your parents and the fun picnics we used to go on. Thank God we have our memories. Hope this finds you all well.

Patty I'm so so sorry. I know how much love there was for your sweet, gumdrop loving mom??.i know its hard, but to think she finally gets to be together with her best friend, your dad, and as you said cuddle her granddaughter, hopefully that gives you some comfort.
Sending love to you and your family!

Great days.

I had the privilege of being Mrs. Burns neighbor and best friend to her daughter Patty, back in the summer of love when I was just 11 years old. The household she maintained was fascinating. 3 daughters, (2 left home already) 2 son's and an ailing Father, all living happily in a small 2.5 bedroom Victorian flat. I will always remember her kindness, and her voice and her Saturday deli-spreads on the kitchen table..

Dear Patty and family
We were so sad to hear about your mom and grandmother. She was such a lovely lady and her love for her family was over-flowing. She was so proud of her beautiful family
May your memories of her bring you peace, comfort and strength
Love always,
The DiStefano Family

I love you, Mom. xoxo
