Not sure what to say?

I knew Al only from the Token Collecting fraternity, and saw him just once a year. But, he left an impression on me as a forthright person who was always willing to share information about the hobby. His token publications will serve as a reminder of and memorial to this wonderful man. What a shame I had not known of Als' other interests until reading his obit, specifically Barbershop Music. My Dad was a member of SPEBSQSA (Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet...

Al, old friend,
"ave atque vale".

I'd guess I knew Al since the METCA days, before ATCO and NATCA, when annual shows/auctions were held in Washington and the serious trade token community traveled to the Northwest. I doubt there was a more liked, respected man in the hobby. His contributions thru at least 3 references he authored will live on for generations. The hobby will miss him.

I knew Al thru his collecting of tokens, and knew him to be honest, knowledgable and one of the most likeable and helpful collectors in the token hobby! He always had a warm smile and handshake or slap on the back for me. I sure do appreciate the books he wrote on trade tokens, which will be one of his great legacys to the exonumia collectors. I know all is in a better place now but I will miss him greatly at our yearly shows. Rest in peace brother.

Loss of Al to the token collectors group can not be measured. I always enjoyed visiting at his table. Mike

Barbara…wanted to express my sorrow at your loss of your brother. I didn’t know him, but, sounds like he was a wonderful person. I will remember you and the whole family in prayer. Corrine (Anderson) Pulley

My sincere sympathies to the Erickson family. I had Mr. Erickson for Math at Mann Jr. High in the late 70's. After failing math the previous year, he lit the light in my brain that gave me a lifetime love of math. After his class i proceeded to get A's and B's in every math class after that. Thank you!!
