Please accept my condolences. I spent much time with Alec many many years ago at Baruch. He was a bright, caring and thoughtful collegue. His passing is a loss to many.

Dr. Calamidas was a mentor for me. He was my professor and thesis supervisor and was always available, years after, for advice and guidance. Most of all I will miss his wit, his amazing sense of humor, his skill in sarcasm without the whining, scornful but also respectful and caring. He loved the spice in life and knew how to enjoy it.
