Angelus Funeral Home - San Antonio Obituary

Alejandro “Babe” Munoz was called home by the Lord on July 11th, 2020 at the age of 83. He was born on July 5th, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas. Alejandro was a graduate of Lanier High School. Mr. Munoz retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier after 30 years.


He served his country and was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and Texas Army National Guard.


Alejandro was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He touched many lives with his heart of gold and sweet smile. He is warmly remembered for his love of sweets and hot coffee. His family will always admire and respect the beautiful love story he shared with his wife, Soledad. His devotion to her was unwavering and unending.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Ofelia Munoz; His brothers, Oscar, Cesar, Sam, and Johnny Munoz, and sister Ofelia Gonzales, daughter baby Ofelia.


Alejandro is remembered and survived by his wife of 61 years, Soledad (Alfaro) Munoz; and his children: son, Alex and wife Rafellea; daughters, Gloria and husband Cruz; Diana and husband Tim and Debra and husband Eddie; grandchildren; John Anthony (Michelle), Edward Jr., Katherine (James), Elizabeth, Matthew (Bianca), Roland, Ryan, Melanie (Calvin), Kimberly (Jerry), Angel, Asia and Aaron; Also, by his brother, David Munoz and sisters; Mary Louise Jimenez, Yolanda Hernandez and Anita Morales. He is also survived by twenty-six great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


Our family wishes to thank Nancy Almauger for her love, care and support.


FUNERAL SERVICES


The family must regretfully limit attendance at the memorial services to immediate family due to health and safety concerns. Interment with military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery, also limited to invitation only.


The family is grateful for the cooperation and understanding being shown during this difficult time.
