Alex was loved and respected by everyone in Trenton on both sides of the aisle, He was always willing to listen and always well prepared for what was on his docket. Condolences to the family of Alex DeCroce. It was indeed my distinct pleasure to have worked with Alex when he chaired the Assembly Transportation Committee. Working for the Office of Legislative Services, I had the opportunity, both as a financial analyst and for a short while as committee aide, to assist Alex and his aide, Melverne Cooke, in the various legislative renewals and changes made to the Transportation Trust Fund. Betty Lou, I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that your memories of Alex will be of comfort and bring you peace. I remember Alex to be a dedicated and sincere man with an intense need to serve his community and state. To say Alex will be missed seems to be such an understatement but there just are no words.
