Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Gaus, Alexander, "Alex", 34, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Friday, January 21, 2022.

It is with profound sadness that Elmar and Karen Gaus announce the passing of their dearly, beloved son, Alex Gaus.  Brother of Lisa (Gaus) Mack, husband, Brandon. Loving uncle to Jacob, Olivia and Lucas. Dear grandson of Doris Dooley and the late Thomas Dooley. Alex will forever be lovingly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Alex was born and raised in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was honest, generous, hard-working, athletic and self-motivated. He never gave up on accomplishing his dreams. He completed his education with a college degree in the arts in general studies. When Alex wasn't working he could be found either on the golf course or playing basketball or soccer on several different teams he was a member of.

Alex will be remembered for the value he placed on his Catholic faith, the generosity he showed to others, and the love he had for his family and friends. The happy memories we have of him will be cherished and he will remain forever in our hearts with love.

If you would like to, in memory of Alex, perform an act of kindness in his honor.

Rest in Peace Alex.

We love you.

Not sure what to say?

"You only make a once in a life time friend, once in a life time." Thanks for all the great memories. I wish we could make some more.

You will always be in my heart, little brother.

Our son was friends with Alex in grade school at Ascension. He was a nice kid, we really enjoyed him. So sorry for your loss, Karen and Elmar. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Rest in peace

God called you home before we were ready, but know you wrapped in the arms of Jesus,
Love Aunt Jeanne & Uncle Don

Words can’t express how much you meant to me, little brother. I will forever miss you. So grateful for all the good memories we had growing up, I will always love you. Rest In Peace.

Alex was a kind and hilarious friend to have on your side! I’ll never forget our neighborhood adventures jumping on our trampoline and taking hikes to the Subway near by. It’s hard to believe those ascension days were so long ago. You’ll be missed, Alex. Gone too soon.

I haven’t seen you in recent years, but you were always a great friend. One of the most competitive people I had the pleasure of meeting. We had some great times together. You will be missed.
