Not sure what to say?

RIPOWER Coach Gillum It was always a pleasure to have meaningful discussions with you at Roosevelt H.S. you were one of the first Teachers that reached out to me when I begin working there thank you again for your support & kindness. I just found out you were gone this year my deepest condolences to the family..

RIP Coach Gillum, Coach you gave me so much confidence as a player and everyday being around you was a blessing thanks for everything Coach Gillum. Kill a mosquito with an axe, I will never forget that saying. SOC 87

Big Gil was such an inspiration to us kids weather its on a basketball court, lunchroom, classroom etc.. Thanks for all the great memories, rest peaceful. Little Johnny as Gil would call me!

He is truly missed! I was very Blessed to be in his classroom!

I am just finding out about coach Gillum's passing! God bless his family. I was one of his students at Sarah Zumwalt when it was a 7th, 8th and 9th grade school. He was an awesome teacher who challenged us and made sure we learned our Black History. I also will cherish the memories of his very different phone etiquette "Rap"! lol. Rest in peace One of a kind teacher.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
