Memory Eternal Papa

My husband Todd and I want to extend our deepest sympathy to Alex's family. I, Julia, have known you dad and grandfather for 25 years through St Nicholas Orthodox Church. I/we considered him and Caroline as pillars of our church family. Alex always had interesting stories to tell with a kind and caring personality. Memory Eternal Alex! Love in Christ, Todd & Julia Wick

I had known of Alex's involvement in Toastmasters, but I wasn't aware of the extent of his involvement until reading this obituary. He always spoke highly of Toastmasters and was an excellent representation of the organization with his gregarious, friendly, and uplifting personality. His polished speaking skills were also a great testament to the value of the Toastmasters educational program. May Alexei's memory be eternal!

Remembering Alex from St. Nicholas Orthodox Church when we lived here almost 40 years ago and reconnecting when we moved back 14 years ago. Enjoyed your stories! Memory Eternal!

We at St Nicholas have missed Alex’s lively presence these past few years. He and Caroline were stalwart supporters of the parish. Alex was always a great storyteller. Memory eternal.

Alex was a friend with many stories and toasts. We will miss Alex and his gregarious personality! May Alex´s memory be eternal! With love in Christ, Friends from St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Dave and Jean Shaffer & family

I have known Alex since forever, it seems! What a gentleman, friendly, old-fashionedly formal and polite, with beautiful Russian handwriting. He was absolutely unique. We became good friends at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, a friendship that lasted decades. I even helped him get a job at Parkrose High helping with new Russian/Ukrainian immigrants. He did have to be cautioned that "helping" did not include doing their homework for them! Alyosha, you are truly missed! Vjechnaya...

Alex Kennedy was a great man, full of life and remembered as one at St. Nicholas who could be heard singing the Lord's Prayer in Russian, and leading events with a thunderous voice, announcing, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls" when social events at St. Nicholas called for a master of ceremonies. We also remember him as a leader at ROSS, later Slavic Oregon Social Services (formerly ROSS) was established by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) in 1994 to serve the needs of...
