Paul Funeral Home of Washington Obituary

Alex Paul Mason, age 13, a resident of Washington, died Monday, May 22, 2023, with his family by his side, following a life-long illness.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Rev. Greg Mills.  A private burial will follow at Davis Cemetery in Pantego.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

Alex was born in Beaufort County on April 23, 2010, son of Randy Mason, Jr. and Ericka LeFever Mason.  Alex had a calm and gentle spirit and a quiet determination. His resilience and ability to overcome the odds was an inspiration and although he didn’t speak,  his beautiful blue eyes and “cheeses” conveyed his love. His life was short but his impact on those that knew him will be long lasting.

Surviving along with his parents: Randy and Ericka are a brother: Shane Mason of the home; and his maternal grandfather: Rex LeFever of the Wenona community of Pantego.  Alex was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Randy and Belinda Mason; and his maternal grandmother: Belinda H. LeFever.

Alex’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Christy Blocker, Cindy Linton, Karen Carson, Caroline Harter, and Cynthia Mills for the love, compassion, and excellent care they provided for him.

SENDING PRAYERS TO THE FAMILY. RANDY, ERICKA AND SHANE SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.

What a beautiful family. I don't know you, but wanted to send a heartfelt message. God Bless you all❤

Our sympathy to all the family in your great loss. May God bless all now and in the days ahead. With loving and caring thoughts.

Erica, I have not seen you in many years but when I read Alex’s obituary I recognized you. It is never easy releasing a child back to God no matter their infirmities! One still wants to hold, kiss, and comfort them. Very slowly your grief will subside and be replaced with precious memories of time together with him. I pray that God covers you and your family with His Peace, Comfort, and Healing Blessings.

Dear Ericka, Randy, and Shane,
Thinking of you all and sending love.
Joyce Cutler and Family ♥

I will miss your sweet face and precious cheeses, Boo and treasure all of my memories with you. I pray for peace and comfort for you all, Ericka, Randy, and Shane.
