Angelus Funeral Home - San Antonio Obituary

Alex Nava, 69 years of age, gained his angel wings on Tuesday, November 29, 2016.

Alex was born April 10, 1947 in San Antonio, TX and was a proud graduate of Brackenridge High School.  He was the second oldest sibling amongst four siblings.  Alex was a family man and lived each day for the betterment of his entire family.

Alex Nava was a respected Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War during his time of service.

Alex is survived by his wife, Rosalinda Nava, 2 children, Alex Nava, Jr. and Nicole Nava Cortes and son-in-law, Carlos D. Cortes, along with granddaughters, Amorette Rebekah Vasquez-Nava and Erin Nicole Nava.  He also leaves behind sisters, Mary Esther Nava-Garcia, Rachel Castro, and Rosie Martinez as well as brother, Robert Robles.  He was preceded in death by father, Jose Alejandro Nava and mother, Sulema Robles.

To many friends and family, Alex was more than just a husband, father, brother or uncle. Alex Nava was a man of integrity and respect.  Determination and perseverance are just two of the many traits Alex continued to share with the lives he was able to touch during his time here on Earth.

Alex was a star basketball player throughout his youth and continued to stay knowledgeable about sports until his last days.  Alex loved his San Antonio Spurs and he will now have the best seat in town as he watches his team push for another championship.

Mr. Nava made one want to be a better individual, and for this reason alone, Mr. Nava will deeply missed.

Mr. Nava, I can hardly believe your gone. Your smile resonates in my head daily and your laughter while sharing stories will forever ring in my ears. Your genuine kindness and care of others will always be a shining example of how you should treat others. You have never met a stranger and every stranger quickly became your friend. You took the time to care and listen to everyone. Poor Rosie could never get you out of a store from all your friend making. Your legacy of greatness will live on...

Our Condolences to you and your family. From Julian and Rosie Segura and family

My sincere condolences to the family. May God give you the comfort you need in this time of sorrow. Psalms 29:11.
