Dr. Nickon was my research director during my successful Ph.D. candidacy at Johns Hopkins 1960 to 1965. He was one of the finest men I've ever known. When my project took us outside of Dr. Nickon's area of expertise and interest and seemed to being nowhere, instead of demanding that I switch to a project of interest to him, he reluctantly allowed me to continue on my own.
