Alex Sanchez Rivera

My deepest condolences to Alex's family. Alex was always a part of my family's life while we were growing up. My dad--Doc Claypool--loved Alex and always knew he could be counted on for what ever was necessary. I also appreciated that Alex would occasionally check up on my mom and me--just to see how we were doing and coping without Dad. That was Alex--and the fraternity of the Air Guard. My condolences to the Rivera family at the loss of your beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He joins my beloved Larry D. Harmon, CMST (dec. 2002) who always spoke respectfully and lovingly of "Litle Doc". I believe they meet again at the celestial Drill and have joined the ranks of dedicated Air Guardsmen who continue to serve and protect us. Respectfully,

I subscribe to the Online version of the AZ Republic and was saddened to leard of Little Doc's passing. I remember sneaking down to his clinic to grab a quick nap and our coffee clachs which included Mike and Sam. My condolences to his family.

Oh, "little doc" we remember your days as the chief of the clinic. Physicals, shots, whatever, you were there to help Doc Claypool do his thing. You, too, were one of the "good guys" who could be counted on to get things done in the Air Guard fraternity. Thanks for being there.

Dear Rivera family, Doc was a stabilizing force during my employment at the Air National Guard. Always a smile, always a ready hug for tough times, and always the most professional military attitude. I remember him being famous for cooking havalena for the troops. It was a pleasure to have known him.

Dear, Dear Alex. What a privilege it was to have you for my mentor. That National Guard clinic was always yours; you just let me care for it and those wonderful people on your behalf. But I could not have done it without you dropping by and letting me ask questions, or vent, as the case may have been. You let me learn and experience what I could under your watchful eye.
