Alex B. Simmons

Alex was born on May 30, 1945 and passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018. Alex was a resident of Illinois at the time of passing. He was Past Master five times at Manteno Masonic Lodge 6. He attended Kankakee Community College for one year and graduated from mortuary school in Chicago. He served a two-year duty with the U.S. Army in Erlangen, Germany, during the Cold War. Psalms 91:16 "With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation." The wake will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 9, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Manteno. Masonic rites will be given at 7 p.m. An additional time of viewing will be from 9 a.m. on Saturday until the 10 a.m. funeral services at First Baptist Church in Manteno. A viewing at First Baptist Church of Cutler will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 11. Graveside services and the Steelville American Legion Color Guard Gun Salute will follow in Cutler Cemetery in Cutler. He was Past Master five times at Manteno Masonic Lodge 6.
